Assistant Accountant | London | £35,000 -£40,000 per annum (plus bonus and benefits) | Luxury Retail Brand | 12 month FTC | JRVB34156
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join a central London-based, luxury retail brand on a permanent basis. You will be joining at an exciting time as they have had some incredible growth following the start of their 5-year transformation. This is a hybrid role based in Mayfair, with the expectation of 4 days a week in the office, offering flexible hours within a sociable team.
Details of the role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work in their transactional team alongside four other members, assisting with VAT, reporting, intercompany transactions, and month-end tasks. You will also have the opportunity to drive change through projects aimed at increasing automation.
Responsibilities include:
- Owning balance sheet reconciliation for multiple entities and currencies
- Producing Intrastat reports on 2 foreign entities
- Creating and posting journals
- Running month-end for prepayments, accruals, and payroll reconciliation
- Creating VAT returns and reports for 4 entities alongside outsourced providers
- Maintain Fixed Asset registers
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience in a consumer environment is highly beneficial
- Working knowledge of SAP (or similar ERP) and strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
- Exceptional communication skills, with confidence liaising across departments and internationally
- A proactive mindset and strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA (desirable but not essential)
