Finance Business Partner

A Finance Business Partner is required to work for a private equity-backed retailer, based in their London Headquarters (1-2 days per week in the office). This is an opportunity to work for a brand that has achieved record-breaking sales in the past 2 years and is looking to expand further internationally, with 50 planned site openings over the next 12 months.

The Finance Manager will report to the Senior Commercial Finance Manager and will take full ownership of preparation of the management accounts and associated analysis for the cost centres of the business. You will own the budgeting and forecasting and will be business partnering with the Heads of Departments to challenge spend on a monthly basis.

Responsibilities include:

• Taking ownership of all cost centres for the business including HR, IT, Finance and Marketing
• Preparation of the management accounts and month-end for the cost centres
• Owning the budgeting and forecasting for each of the departments
• Providing stakeholders with analysis and commentary on spend and budgets vs actual on a monthly basis
• Business partnering with the Heads of Department to challenge spend and deal with any financial queries relating to the cost centre
• Continuously looking at ways to drive process improvement across this role and the wider business

Skill set required:

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience business partnering with internal stakeholders and proven examples of where you have added commercial value. You must be comfortable working in a strategic and add-value role, yet willing to be hands-on in preparing the monthly management accounts for the cost centres. Experience working for a business of a £200 million turnover is essential for this role, knowledge of the consumer industry is beneficial but not essential. You will be ambitious in nature with the ability to build relationships with non-finance stakeholders & influence senior management.
