Management Accountant

A Management Accountant (retail) is required to work for a private equity-backed omnichannel retailer, based in their London Headquarters (1-2 days per week in the office). This is an opportunity to work for a brand that has achieved record-breaking sales in the past 2 years and is looking to expand further internationally, with 50 planned site openings over the next 12 months.

The Management Accountant will report to a Finance Manager and sit in a direct team of 4 (amongst a much wider finance team). You will be working on the retail channel and will own the management accounts for one region. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, including the Retail Directors.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparation of the management accounts and month-end for your region including P&L, balance sheet, accruals, journals, and prepayments (25% of role)
• Supporting with the production of the retail budgets and working with Retail Directors to monitor budgets vs actuals periodically
• Playing a key part in retail projects from a finance perspective. This includes improving CAPEX reporting for stores and managing pre and post-investment appraisal
• Working as the main business partner to the Retail Directors, attending monthly meetings with the stakeholders to review store performance
• Continuously looking at ways to improve financial processes and performance

Skill set required:

The successful candidate will be a studied or newly qualified accountant with experience working for a multi-site business (ideally retail/hospitality). You will have strong month-end and management accounts experience and will be looking to step up into a role that incorporates management accounts as well as business partnering, budgeting, and forecasting. Ideally, you will have worked for a growing business of £50 million turnover+ where you have been instrumental in driving revenues and implementing new financial controls. You will be ambitious in nature with the ability to build relationships with non-finance stakeholders & influence senior management.
