Senior Management Accountant

A Senior Management Accountant is required to work for a well-renowned, retail conglomerate, based in Bromley, in what is a number 2 role to the Group Financial Controller. This is an opportunity to work for a multichannel retailer that has shown strong financial performance in 2022-2023 and that has a clear growth strategy including expanding its product range and driving e-commerce revenues.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will support with implementing robust financial and management reporting. The role will also be responsible for mentoring the transactional finance team and Part Qualified Accountants in the team.

Responsibilities include:

• Business partnering with various non-finance stakeholders supporting with analysis on costs for different departments
• Production of monthly management accounts for the group
• Overseeing the month-end including journals, accruals, and prepayments
• Playing a key part at year-end, working as a key point of contact for the auditors
• Owning the production of KPI reporting for the group
• Supporting the Group Financial Controller with the improvement of internal controls and systems
• Supervising Part Qualified Accountants in the team

Skill set required:

The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant/Finalist or QBE with experience owning the preparation of management accounts and month-end within a consumer or multi-site environment. The ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders across the business is key to this role, previous examples of where you have business partnered with non-finance is preferred. Knowledge of audit and inventory as well as exposure to developing part-qualified accountants is beneficial. You will be proactive in nature with the confidence to drive change and will thrive at working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
