A Senior Commercial Finance Manager is required to work for a private equity-backed omnichannel retailer, based in their London Headquarters (2-3 days per week in the office). This is an opportunity to work for a brand that has achieved record-breaking sales in the past 2 years and is looking to expand further internationally, with 50 planned site openings over the next 12 months.

The Senior Commercial Finance Manager is a newly created role, reporting directly to the Head of Finance. You will manage 4 direct reports (and 8 indirect reports) who head up the business partnering teams across retail, e-commerce, supply chain, and overheads. The role is strategic, interacting directly with the senior leadership team and board yet also has oversight of the financial controls across each channel.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of the budgeting and forecasting cycles across all channels (retail, ecomm, supply chain & overheads)
  • Management and development of 4 direct reports and 8 indirect reports
  • Business partnering with the senior leadership team and board members, providing them with board reports. This includes providing supporting commentary and highlighting business risks
  • Responsibility for timely and accurate production of the monthly reporting cycle (month-end and P&L reporting)
  • Continuously looking at ways to improve existing processes and provide the business with more detailed analysis and reports. Examples of this include improving the month-end cycle and enhancing CAPEX reporting and post-investment appraisals
  • Ownership of the balance sheet across all channels and working as a key point of contact at audit

Skill set required:

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience working for a multi-site business (ideally retail/hospitality) that operates with 80+ stores. You will have a strong financial controls background as well as commercial finance experience gained in the consumer industry. Experience leading and developing a team is key. Ideally, you will have worked for a growing business with an omnichannel presence where you have been instrumental in driving revenues and implementing new financial controls. You will be ambitious in nature with the ability to build relationships with non-finance stakeholders & influence senior management.

In return for your hard work, you will be working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment that is continuously expanding. You will be sitting amongst an extremely credible senior finance team and in a business that offers a clear progression path and the opportunity to make an impact to the bottom line.
